Para esta nova coleção Salmarim, a Nuts optou por um design simples com linhas contemporâneas e depuradas, com foco na sustentabilidade ambiental na escolha dos materiais selecionados e na responsabilidade social pela escolha de artesãos e indústrias tradicionais envolvidas na produção.

Todos os materiais utilizados no novo packaging são portugueses ou produzidos em Portugal e foram concebidos e selecionados com este propósito. A começar pela cortiça, que é um material ecológico e bastante resistente, com uma longevidade ilimitada, para além de ser um material autóctone e de ser um dos maiores legados identitários de Portugal.

Like a jewel the Fleur de Sel is also rare and valuable. It is a delicate layer formed on the surface of the salt marshes. Made of fragile crystals that are produced whenever the perfect conditions are met: sun heat and wind. Salmarim's Fleur de Sel is nationally and internationally recognised as a handcrafted product of excellence from the Natural Reserve of the Castro Marim in the Algarve respecting the ancestral roots of this activity the ecosystem and local culture.

We wanted to create an environmental friendly packaging that not only preserve the qualities of this sensitive product but that is also reusable and above all that would last over time. The choice of materials was made with the aim of using materials linked to Portuguese culture such as cork which is not only natural but also reusable glass which is recyclable and reusable the wooden spoons which are carved from used wood waste and the paper label of FSC origin. The design of the cork box was thought to be an attractive object on the grocery shelf showing the salt and at the same time a design object in the kitchen and also at the table.
